On top of all the crazy things our family does, one of our favorites is that we are foster parents to unwanted exotic and wild animals (Not cats or dogs). If you have a snake in the garage and animal control can't help out, we get called in. If that cute snuggle bunny loses its cuteness after 2 months, they are brought to us. If an owl is knocked silly and is needing a safe place to pull itself back together, then we are called in to the rescue. Our latest little fella has had a rough start at life. Young little squirrel is knocked from his home from this weeks storm that moved through, momma no longer can be found. We get the call and the little guy is brought out to us. Heidi has really bonded to little one, whom she has named George. She feeds him every couple hours, cleaning him up, and watching over him. He now chatters back to you when you talk to it, and he likes riding around on your shoulder. He tuckers out quickly then and its back to his heating pad in his pen to nap. Our kids help out as well on the animals that come in, they love caring for the animals and getting them all back on their feet (or wings, hoofs, ect.) The wild animals we try to release after being stabilized, tame pet ones are adopted out to new loving forever homes, and some find a loving forever home right here with us.
